RPSA has been training working artists, designers and jewellers since 1971. Fifty-six years on, the same question is still being answered the same way: talent and willingness decide who belongs here, not circumstance.
Our graduates do not follow a single career template. They move between disciplines, start businesses, exhibit, teach, and apply a creative foundation to work that did not exist when they enrolled. Some become fine artists whose work enters major collections. Some build brand and design careers inside South Africa's leading companies. Some open their own studios. What they share is not a job title. It is a foundation strong enough to carry whatever they choose to build on it.

Igshaan Adams is now one of South Africa's most celebrated contemporary artists, known internationally for his textile and installation work. His practice began in RPSA's studios, working across materials and disciplines from his first year.
Warren Maroon studied Fine Art at RPSA and received the 2026 Investec Emerging Artist Award.
