About me

Welcome to my world of creativity.

By day, I am Course Coordinator for the Jewellery Design Department at Ruth Prowse School of Art and also lecture students in Jewellery Manufacture, Jewellery Discourse and Professional Practice subjects. My years of building and running my own small business after my BA Degree in Visual Arts specialising in Creative Jewellery and Metal Design has informed the programme and I now get to serve alongside the JD team and guide students, from where they are when they enter our doors, toward their future careers in the jewellery industry. A highlight of my job continues to be seeing students find their creative voice and achieve many milestones. My teaching approach is to meet students where they are and support them toward a successful outcome.

By night, I have the privilege of inputting into the Higher Education sector. As a specialist in the field, I moderate, review creative outputs and have participated as external peer evaluator for qualification review. I continue to pursue professional development in this ever evolving and exciting higher education space and have been interested in the areas of transformation in higher education as well as the use of Artificial Intelligence in learning and teaching.

My jewellery practice is currently limited to select custom orders/bespoke client items and campaigns. Some brands I've had the opportunity to work for is Jack Daniels, Yardley and Nike for Lemkus.

Creativity continues to be the lens through which I 'look and see', and I have an overflowing craft box to prove it- drawing, flower arranging, knitting, gallery visits, cooking and hospitality are everyday extensions of that creativity beyond the bench.

A fun fact you may not know about me - I keep a beach bag packed and in my car boot when Spring begins.
